Vuyani Mathe
My name is Vuyani Mathe, a 28-year-old boy from KwaZulu-Natal. I finished grade 12 at Ekukhuleni High school and proceeded to obtain a Diploma in Agricultural Science from Cedara College of Agriculture and a B.Tech Degree in Agricultural Management from University of South Africa. I am a registered Natural scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) in the Agricultural science field.
I am currently working at the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) as a science and technology intern journalist hosted by 1KZN community television (DSTV Channel 261), situated in Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. At 1KZN TV my duties include covering science and technology stories, studio setup for 1KZN TV news, 1KZN TV programs, being a camera operator and program play listing.
My main objectives as a science journalist is to present science in a fresh, vibrant and engaging way to people from all walks of life. I want to contribute to the SAASTA’s aim to be the leading science advancement agency in the country by promoting and communicating the value and impact of science, technology and innovation in a dynamic knowledge economy.
