5th Harry Gwala District Science Week Annual Event

You are invited to participate in the 5th Harry Gwala District Science Week Annual Event (5 – 9 May 2025) themed, ” Building Resilient Communities: Tackling Environmental Challenges and Driving Sustainable Development “. This theme focuses on using STEM subjects like Physics, Geography, Mathematics, and Life Sciences to address environmental disasters, poor spatial planning, and economic challenges in the Harry Gwala District. It empowers learners to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for real-world problems.

The event also plans to conduct a competition for Grade 12 learners, focusing on this theme, to encourage them to think about
societal problems and develop innovative solutions. The competition will focus on the following subthemes:

• Resilient Futures: STEM Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Disaster Preparedness
• Empowering Communities: Entrepreneurship and STEM for Sustainable Economic Growth
