You have to collaborate with other communicators. Find the people blogging, podcasting and broadcasting in your field and make them your friends. I once found out that an institution on the other side of the country was having a schools event and I simply asked the organisers if I could come and help. They thought it odd that I should like to drive so far just to help in an outreach event but willingly accepted my help. That event helped me network with a whole range of astronomy communicators and helped forge friendships that last to this day.
