Mr. Chris McCartney

Chris studied at Rhodes University and the then University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela University). He is passionate about education and has been involved in environmental education and training of educators for most of his working career.

He has spent half of his working life in conservation as an ecologist and the other half in education and academia but with a lot of overlap between the two. This involved environmental education whilst in conservation, and in education while lecturing ecology and physiology to students and in upskilling teachers. He is currently employed by the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists as the Provincial Coordinator for the Northern Cape. He loves designing and making things, including models and educational toys for explaining scientific concepts.
